Practical plaster mold making course for ceramists.

Course Objective: By the end of the two days, each participant will: make their own mold (cup), understand and practice the steps for making one-half, two-part, three-part, and cracked plaster molds, and gain an insight into the practice of porcelain casting.

Topic:

Day 0 – Planning and preliminary work at home (I will provide the clay model if required) Short individual online consultation regarding the design of the cup or small vase made during the course Necessary tools (if required, I will provide the missing items to the participants at a fixed price, which will of course be yours for further work) Preliminary preparation of a clay model

Day 1 – Theory and preparation Theoretical introduction with projections: design of molds, technological overview, behavior of plaster and clay, knowledge of raw materials. Making one-part, two-part, three-part molds, practical demonstration.

Day 2 – Practice and execution Consultation on how to execute the objects. Making a plaster masterpiece based on the clay model, then making molds.

Theory: mixing and flowing porcelain mass, avoiding casting errors and glaze recommendations for porcelain objects.
